Person-Centred Care

Person‑Centred Care explores what it means to put the person at the heart of care and support. The course introduces person‑centred care as an approach that focuses on what matters to the individual, rather than their condition, age, or needs alone. You will consider why person‑centred care is central to good practice and how it supports dignity, independence, choice, and meaningful involvement in everyday life and decision‑making.

The course also highlights what person‑centred care means for care workers and families, encouraging a shift from “What is the matter?” to “What matters to you?”. Through practical examples and reflection, learners are supported to apply a person‑centred mindset in their own role and everyday interactions.
