Foot Care
MPFT

This e-learning course provides a comprehensive overview of foot care, including essential practices for foot care, understanding foot pathologies, and managing medical conditions affecting the feet. It covers practical skills such as nail trimming, instrument setup, and record keeping, along with guidance on when to refer to a podiatrist.

This is part one of a two-part training. The second part is a required face-to-face session that enables you to deliver foot or nail care to the people you support. Completion of both parts is necessary to undertake the nail and footcare described in this course.

At the end of this training, you’ll have the option to request the face-to-face session.

Due to this training being part of a larger training course, the information available in the user profiles will be viewable by the MPFT Podiatry Team. Please view their privacy notice for more information.

This training is equivalent to one hour participatory hours for CPD. Due to this being part one of two, a certificate is not provided.

However, should you need evidence of your completion of this e-learning, please contact socialcareacademy@staffordshire.gov.uk and we will be happy to assist with providing evidence.

This training does have images of common pathologies used for foot care. These are essential to understanding the training content. If you need to use a screen-reader, or are otherwise unable to see the images, please contact kelly.carrothers@mpft.nhs.uk, and we would be happy to explore what reasonable adjustments we can make.

This training was developed by the MPFT Podiatry team.
