Explore the principles and everyday practices of person-centred and person-led care. Through real-life examples, practical guidance, and reflective insights, learners will understand how to support individuals in a way that promotes dignity, independence, identity, and wellbeing. The course highlights the shift from traditional care models to approaches that empower people to lead their own lives, make meaningful choices, and shape the support they receive.

This training is suitable for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and should be supplemented with additional learning and study. Please note that it is not sufficient to be classified as mandatory training. 

Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply person‑centred and person‑led principles within legal, regulatory and safe delegation frameworks.
  2. Maintain privacy, dignity, identity and overall wellbeing in all care interactions.
  3. Promote choice and support informed decision‑making, co‑production and active participation.
  4. Enable independence through proportionate, positive risk assessment and management.
  5. Build supportive relationships and tailor support to the person’s preferences, adapting as needs change.
  6. Demonstrate consistent person‑centred practice and ongoing professional development in the PA/care role.
