End of Life Education for Care Agencies

This webinar will define end-of-life care and summarise the key principles of holistic care. Participants will develop awareness of the ReSPECT plan and recognise the importance of sensitive communication and its challenges. The session will identify physical care needs, recall psychological and physical symptoms at end of life, and explore management techniques. Additionally, it will develop awareness of care after death.
Learning Outcomes
- Define what is meant by end of life care.
- Summarise key principles of holistic care at end of life.
- Develop awareness of the ReSPECT plan.
- Recognise the importance of sensitive communication at end of life and the challenges.
- Identify physical care needs: personal care/mouth care, nutrition and hydration, moving and handling, pressure area care and continence management.
- Recall psychological and physical symptoms at end of life and management techniques.
- Develop awareness of care after death.

This training does discuss death and dying, and may be upsetting for some audiences.
