Level 2 - Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes

This course is accessible to all residents of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. It is available at:

This course is designed for those who wish to improve their knowledge and understanding of caring for individuals with diabetes. It covers topics such as the nature of diabetes, prevention and early intervention for type 2 diabetes, and the initial care, treatment, and management of the condition. Additionally, it includes understanding glucose and insulin function, risk factors associated with type 2 diabetes, and ongoing care to control blood glucose levels and prevent complications.

Level 3 - Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes

This course is accessible to all residents of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. It is available at:

The objectives of this qualification are to gain knowledge and understanding of diabetes, including:

  • The types, causes, signs and symptoms of diabetes
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • The impact of diabetes on individuals, others and society
