This e-learning course is designed to help you understand what scabies is and how to manage it in social care settings.
The course explains what scabies is, how to identify and treat infestations in care settings. You'll learn about managing contacts, medications used to treat scabies and the correct processes for handling outbreaks and coordinating treatments. The course also includes advice on hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), environmental cleaning, and laundry protocols to prevent onward transmission and ensure effective care.
This training is suitable for all social care staff.
This training is equivalent to one hour participatory hours for CPD. A certificate will be provided upon completion of this training.
This training does have images of scabies infestations.
This training was developed by the MPFT Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPC).
