Description
Speaking up in public can be nerve wracking, meaning some voices go unheard in meetings, during projects or at events. This practical session will introduce the group to some of the barriers to speaking up and then work through practical and adaptable activities that can be used in group settings to help people have a say and share their opinions in ways that everyone’s voices is included. We will explore different group activities that can help people to understand everyone’s strengths (including their own), share their ideas with the group and with each other, vote on specific issues, plan action. There will be time allocated for reflection, allowing each member of the training session time to consider and discuss how they might use some of the activities in their own work or personal settings.
