This half day, workshop driven session, focuses on improving the assessment, understanding and safe management of customers presenting with emotional disturbance, psychosis and trauma. Consideration is given to lone-working, team working and leadership in creating a consistent approach to conflict management. Situational Awareness: Take away exercises for reading the room, preventing the event, maintaining self-awareness and getting to know yourself. Positive Communication: Reading the customer; thinking, feeling and behaviour. Positive engagement and rapport. Building confidence and resilience. Conflict Communication: How to manage yourself in a crisis. Taking calm and confident control. When to engage, when to withdraw and when to seek help. The Felt-Sense Model: An all agency model for building self-regulation skills for people with addictions and trauma. This training can be booked through Insight Academy's EventBrite Webpage. Working in groups brings a broad range of skills, strengths and different lived experiences to a project. However, they may also lead to disagreements and conflict. This session will cover how groups work and how we can understand power and conflict in groups. It will outline how we can use different activities and engagement techniques to help people through the group process and provide group members with an opportunity to reflect on their own strengths and areas for development in group facilitation.
