Session Details This training is being held at: The Stone House Hotel,  Brooms Park Stafford Road, Stone, ST15 0BQ  Course Aim and Description This comprehensive CPD-accredited course is designed to strengthen medicines management practices across adult social care. It equips staff with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to manage medication safely and competently, in line with current legislation and best practice guidance. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, learners will be able to: Understand legal frameworks, medicine types, and routes of administration. Apply best practices in safe administration, including the “6 Rights” and “4-way matching”. Recognise their role and responsibilities in line with organisational policies. Demonstrate competency in record keeping using MAR or EMAR tools. Identify and respond appropriately to side effects, adverse reactions, and medication errors. Safely store and dispose of medicines in care settings. Understand protocols for “when required” and “homely remedy” medications. Welcome to this module focused on Safeguarding and Mental Capacity Safeguarding adults means protecting a person’s right to live in safely, free from abuse and neglect. As an adult social care employer, it’s important to understand your responsibilities around safeguarding and the standards you need to follow. In this module, you’ll start to explore some of the underpinning knowledge you’ll need to embed best practice in safeguarding and mental capacity. This e-learning course is designed to help you understand what scabies is and how to manage it in social care settings.   The course explains what scabies is, how to identify and treat infestations in care settings. You'll learn about managing contacts, medications used to treat scabies and the correct processes for handling outbreaks and coordinating treatments. The course also includes advice on hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), environmental cleaning, and laundry protocols to prevent onward transmission and ensure effective care.  This training is suitable for all social care staff.  This training is equivalent to one hour participatory hours for CPD. A certificate will be provided upon completion of this training.  This training does have images of scabies infestations.  This training was developed by the MPFT Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPC). Training is aimed at: All front-line staff working in Care Home, Nursing Home, Supported Living and Home Care settings. By the end of the session the learner will: • Understand the scale and burden of sepsis within the UK • Be able to define ‘Sepsis’ and ‘Post Sepsis Syndrome’ • Understand and identify the risk factors for sepsis (Sepsis: recognition, diagnosis and early management (2016) NICE guideline NG51) • Understand and explain how to reduce the risk of sepsis within a care setting. • Recognise sepsis and how rapid intervention will help reduce the number of deaths occurring annually by understanding the use of national sepsis decision tools and early warning scoring systems (NEWS2) • Understand when and how to escalate sepsis within your care setting • Have an awareness of the management and treatment for sepsis Please note, by booking onto this training course you are committing to attending at the referenced date and time. Speaking up in public can be nerve wracking, meaning some voices go unheard in meetings, during projects or at events. This practical session will introduce the group to some of the barriers to speaking up and then work through practical and adaptable activities that can be used in group settings to help people have a say and share their opinions in ways that everyone’s voices is included. We will explore different group activities that can help people to understand everyone’s strengths (including their own), share their ideas with the group and with each other, vote on specific issues, plan action. There will be time allocated for reflection, allowing each member of the training session time to consider and discuss how they might use some of the activities in their own work or personal settings.   This training can be booked through Insight Academy's EventBrite Webpage.
