Courses Level 2 - Certificate in Self-Harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention This course is accessible to all residents of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. It explores, risk, warning signs, protective factors, and offers strategies for prevention and intervention. 		Welcome to this module focused on making decisions A key component of a manager's role in adult social care is to make decisions and provide direction. The service and team members you lead will look to you to make decisions on how to provide the best possible care and support to the people accessing your service. These same team members may be able to contribute and provide their views, but part of your role is to hold responsibility for the final decision and set the direction of your service as a whole. 		Understanding the difference your project makes is vital to ensure it is able to continually respond to the needs of those it is supporting, enable it to be agile and responsive to what is working and to provide evidence to secure funding for future work. This full day session will cover the essential elements of an impact evaluation, what an impact evaluation framework might look like, some of the methods you could adopt in addition to written or online surveys, what we mean by impact and how to ask the right questions to ensure you get helpful answers. This training can be booked through Insight Academy's EventBrite Webpage. 		Nutrition in Palliative and End of Life Care explores the complex relationship between nutrition, appetite, and quality of life in the context of advanced illness. This course examines key topics such as the impact of anorexia and cachexia, the emotional and physiological challenges of eating at end of life, and the role of caregivers in supporting nutritional well-being. Learners will gain insight into the stages of cachexia, the limitations of nutritional interventions, and the importance of person-centred approaches. The course also provides practical guidance on symptom management, food fortification, and the appropriate use of oral nutritional supplements (ONS), with a focus on comfort, dignity, and informed decision-making.
