This course is for Staffordshire Adult Social Care providers delivering care to individuals in Staffordshire or for individuals outside of Staffordshire receiving care funded or commissioned by Staffordshire County Council.

Session Outcomes

• Know the importance of PRNs in person-centred care plans
• Define PRN medication and its role in care homes, list examples
• Recognise best practice and exemplary PRN protocols
• Understand correct recording of PRN medicines (reason/time/dose and outcome)
• Understand PRN process including assessment, monitoring and review
• Know process for ordering, discontinuing and managing changes
• Know importance of collaboration and effective communication with multi-disciplinary team

Car Parking

Please ensure that on the day you register your car registration when entering the venue, there is a tablet or QR code available in the foyer of the venue. If you don't do this you will be charged.

Refreshment's

Refreshment's and lunch will be not be provided on the day, there is an on site café to purchase these or we recommend bringing your own.

If you have any additional requirements, such as the need for British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation or mobility requirements, please let us know in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements to accommodate your needs.
