This webinar will identify the current national and local drivers guiding quality end-of-life care. It will enable people to recall the physical signs that help identify when end of life is approaching. Participants will be able to summarise the key principles of holistic assessment at end of life and discuss the importance of sensitive communication, including the involvement of patients and their families in decision-making. The session will highlight how individualised care planning improves patient experience and quality of care, focusing on the last days and hours of life, the physical signs of a dying person, and the importance of assessing the total person to develop an individualised care plan. Apprenticeships are a vital pathway for individuals seeking to develop their career and skills. These programs offer a unique combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge, equipping apprentices with the skills and competencies needed to excel in various roles. Apprentices spend a significant portion of their time working alongside experienced staff, this hands-on approach allows them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios Upon completion of an apprenticeship, individuals are well-positioned to pursue further qualifications and career advancement. Many apprentices continue their education through higher-level apprenticeships.   Lead Practitioner in Adult Care   Lead practitioner in adult care (level 4)   The Lead Practitioner apprenticeship is an ideal qualification for someone looking to progress onto a management role. Someone in this role will typically already lead a small team and will be looking to move onto a management role that requires additional skills. Local Partners Lead Practitioner in Adult Care Higher Apprenticeship (NSCG)   Leader in Adult Care   Leader in adult care (level 5)   Leadership roles in a care setting can include Deputy Managers and Managers, but can also include other management roles in larger care settings. This apprenticeship is ideal for someone in a leadership or looking to step into a leadership role. Local Partners Lead in Adult Care Higher Apprenticeship (NSCG)   What to do next Speak with your line manager or supervisor about your interest in your chosen apprenticeship. You will need to agree which institution will provide your apprenticeship, local Colleges and Universities deliver apprenticeship courses but other options can be identified through the Government apprenticeship training courses page.
