Nursing Associate Nursing Associate A Nursing Associate is a role that bridges the gap between care workers and registered nurses. They work with people and their families, carers, and partners to promote health and prevent ill health. Their role means they work with adults of all ages and their partners, families and carers. A registered nursing associate working in social care has some of the following responsibilities: Carrying out clinical tasks such as blood pressure, temperature and ECGs. Monitoring an individual's condition and behaviour, and sharing this information with the registered nurse. Supporting adults of all ages and their partners, families, and carers. Working closely with a registered nurse and interacting with different professionals such as doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers. Working closely with colleagues to monitor the care and support they offer. Nursing Associates are registered with the nursing and midwifery council. This qualification is ideal for someone who is looking to work within the clinical aspects of care without being a registered nurse. Local Partners Nursing Associate Apprenticeship (University of Staffordshire) Nursing Associate Apprenticeship (Keele University) Registered Nurse Registered nurse degree (level 6) Registered nurses in social care are professionals responsible for assessing, planning, and providing nursing care to individuals with complex health needs. They work collaboratively within teams to enhance the quality of life of those they care for, ensuring that care is person-centred and holistic. Nurses working in social care often have distinct expertise, high levels of autonomy, decision making and responsibility so that they can offer high quality support and individual choice to people with a range of complex needs. This qualification is ideal for someone who is currently a Nursing Associate and is looking progress to being a Registered Nurse. You do not have to be a Nursing Associate prior to training to be a Registered Nurse. Being a registered nurse opens up access to a wide variety of clinical roles. This suite of bitesize digital skills e-learning modules has been developed for all staff working in adult social care. Each module looks at one of 7 areas of digital knowledge and skills under the Digital Skills Framework (opens in a new tab). Whilst each module can be completed separately, they complement each other, and completing the full suite of modules will ensure well-rounded learning of digital skills that can support your knowledge and use of technology in the delivery of care. This course is designed to equip care workers with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to support effective communication with individuals who have diverse communication needs and promote their interpersonal skills. You’ll explore the foundations of expressive and receptive communication, learn how to adapt your language, and gain confidence in using a range of communication aids, from objects of reference and communication boards to social stories and Easy Read materials. Key topics include: Understanding communication and interpersonal skills Supporting receptive and expressive language Communicating about time and routines Using communication aids respectfully and effectively Verbal communication and navigating difficult conversations Working with interpreters and inclusive communication strategies This training is suitable for all care support worker staff. This training is not suitable for mandatory learning. The training is equivalent to 90 minutes participatory hours for CPD. A certificate will be provided upon completion of this training. One-day face-to-face training, co-designed and created with customers, to give their view of compulsive hoarding and how they overcame their issues which led them to hoard. The aim of the session is for you to identify and respond to hoarding behaviour, ensuring that a multi-agency approach is developed to ensure that each hoarding case can be dealt with in an effective and co-ordinated way.
